The Bauhaus Design School was founded in the early 20th century by Walter Gropius.
Bauhaus stands for an educational philosophy which ranges from fine arts, photography, industrial design, architecture and urban design.
The Bauhaus Archiv – Museum of Design houses a documentation centre and exhibition spaces with original artefacts such as furniture, ceramics, sculpture and photographs from the Bauhaus Workshop.
